new logo & branding suite
After looking over the preexisting website, I quickly determined that there was a lack of a brand identity. I discussed this with the client and quickly got to work on mock ups of a new logo and cohesive branding. After a few minor revisions we settled on a captivating and colourful brand suite that utilizes the primary colors, a key element in Montessori and easily recognizable as a kid-centered business, and a striking new logo including a nod to the Rocky Mountains. This new look makes the website instantly recognizable as Rockyview Montessori and thus creates trust among current and potential parents using the website to find info about their child’s preschooling.

informative & persuasive copy
The original website had a lot of valuable information and descriptions about the Montessori preschool program, but it was missing the marketing aspects. I was able to use a lot of the existing website copy and adjust it slightly to be organized in ways that highlight what parents are looking for and intrigues readers to click on the call to action buttons and segues I added throughout the website. These small yet intentional adjustments lead to higher conversion rates and more clients!

Designing the branding suite
I started with a couple different logo and icon options for this website for my client to look at and decide what spoke to her. Script fonts are very common in tattooing so I knew we needed a clean, beautiful script font option, but I also wanted to try a version with a serif font that would contrast the fluid line look of tattoo art.
I always want to have a small version of my tattoos that functions as the icon and is essential in website design as the favicon. Here my client decided on the line drawing tulip, which was based on a tattoo she has, the idea here being that the tulip will become an iconic and recognizable part of her brand.

Personalized Features
Every business has different needs. One of the requests for this web project was somewhere to share availability with clients. Many business owners like to share their availability as a means of helping clients find a booking time, but its also like a marketing tool because it creates a sense of urgency and acts as a reminder for clients to get booked in while they still can.
However, most business owners will share their availability to social media, like on their Instagram story, and rarely would anyone have their availability posted on their website because of the inconvenience of having to go into the backend of the website and update it. My solution to this issue was to embed a Google Doc into the website that will update automatically whenever the business owner makes an update, and can become the perfect reliable hub for clients to see all available booking spots at all times, unlike an instagram story that disappears after 24hrs.
